Eye test
Do you find yourself squinting to read or avoiding driving at night? It is time for an eye test. At Ottica Paoletti in Pieve di Soligo we offer a complete vision check to restore comfort and clarity to your sight.
Why have an eye test
- About 3 out of 4 Italians have a vision problem.
- 1 child in 2 has never been seen by an ophthalmologist.
Source: Commissione Difesa Vista, 2018.
To see well, several parts of the visual system must work together:
- The pupil and iris regulate the light entering the eye.
- The lens focuses images.
- The brain interprets the signals and builds the final image.
When to book one
The most common signs:
- blurred or double vision
- difficulty driving at night
- tired eyes after using screens
- needing to hold text further away to read
Behind these complaints there are often common vision problems: myopia (difficulty seeing far away), hyperopia (strain up close), astigmatism (distorted images), presbyopia (difficulty reading after 40) and screen-related eye strain.
How we do it
- Computerised phoropter
- Digital vision tests
- Accurate, personalised measurements
How often to have your eyes checked
- From 4 to 18 years: every year
- Adults: every two years
- After 40: every year
An extra check-up is advisable if you use digital devices a lot, have frequent headaches, notice sudden changes in your vision or have a family history of eye problems.
